Adeline Bouwhuis, RPT

Adeline is a lifelong lover of all things mechanical and musical. She started piano at age six, and picked up several other instruments throughout the years including viola, violin, ukulele, flute, and melodica. After many years of watching her local technician do tunings and light repair work on her childhood piano, she sought out the university technician for Brigham Young University the first week she arrived on campus. She started tuning later that same day and fell in love with the piano all over again.

Throughout her years studying both mechanical engineering and piano performance she never felt more at home than in the shop, practice rooms, and studios doing tuning, regulation, and rebuilding work. After becoming a full-time shop technician she joined the Piano Technicians Guild, became a Registered Piano Technician, and most recently completed the certification process to become an examiner for two of the three exams required to become an RPT. While she still loves playing the piano, her true love will always be servicing them to the highest quality so that the pianist can more effortlessly give the gift of music to all manner of audiences.
